How do you play Proximath?

Proximath is a free daily word game where every letter has a number value — A=1, Z=26. Guess the word and tiles show how far away each letter is from the correct one. Green means exact, blue means 1 away, yellow 2-5, orange 6-10, red 11 or more. Arrows show which direction to adjust. You have 7 guesses.

What is the difference between Morning, Midday and Evening mode?

Morning is the standard 5-letter daily word with full arrow clues, resetting at midnight UK time. Midday is a harder 6-letter word where blue tiles give no direction, resetting at noon UK time. Evening is the hardest mode with 7 letters and no arrows on any tile, resetting at 6pm UK time. Evening Mode requires a free account.

Yes — Proximath is completely free to play. Morning and Midday modes are available without an account. Evening Mode requires a free account. There are no subscriptions or in-app purchases.

How does the monthly leaderboard work?

Accepted Answer

Players earn points for solving daily words — the fewer guesses used the more points earned. Complete all three daily modes to earn a +5 bonus. The top player at the end of each month wins a £20 Amazon gift card. The leaderboard resets on the 1st of every month.

What is the alphabet distance mechanic?

In Proximath every letter A to Z has a number value from 1 to 26. When you guess a letter the tile shows how many steps away your letter is from the correct one in the alphabet. An up arrow means the correct letter is later in the alphabet, a down arrow means it is earlier.
