About Proximath™ Midday Mode

Midday Mode is the second of three daily Proximath™ challenges. Where the Morning game uses five letters and shows full directional arrows on every tile, Midday steps up the difficulty with six letters and a crucial rule change — blue tiles give no direction. You know you are exactly one step away in the alphabet, but you do not know whether to go higher or lower. Midday resets every day at noon UK time, giving you a fresh six-letter challenge to solve in seven guesses.

The Blue Tile Rule

In the Morning game a blue tile tells you two things — your letter is one step away, and the arrow tells you which direction to go. In Midday Mode the arrow is removed from blue tiles. You can see you are close, but you must use the surrounding tiles, your knowledge of the alphabet, and the A-Z reference panel to deduce the correct letter. This single rule change transforms a near-certain guess into a genuine puzzle moment.

Using the A-Z Panel in Midday

The A-Z alphabet panel is especially useful in Midday Mode. Click any letter in the panel to see how far every other letter is from it, colour-coded using the same Proximath™ distance rules. When you receive a blue tile and do not know which direction to go, use the A-Z panel to map out the two possible letters and make an informed decision.

Tips for Six-Letter Words

Six-letter words give you more positional information per guess than five-letter words, but the additional letter means more combinations to consider. Start with a guess that covers a spread of alphabet positions — letters from the early, middle and late alphabet across your six positions. Use the colour gradient across all six tiles together rather than focusing on one tile at a time. When a blue tile appears, resist the urge to guess immediately — think about which of the two adjacent letters makes more sense given the other tiles.
